Gateway


Through an Auroville project called Gateway, AVI UK helped to support a number of different projects in the fields of Education, Communication and Community Development. The projects are being funded by a substantial private donation to Auroville, through AVI UK.

There were more than 20 projects, including:
 
  • The building of a new High School for Auroville
  • The building of community facilities
  • The building of accommodation for youth
  • A contribution to the construction of school buildings for Tamil Heritage School for village children and working youth (contribution to the EC Youth Education and Training Project) and Kuilapalayam High School
  • Provision of sports facilities for the Auroville Township
  • Provision of physical education facilities at an Auroville School.
  • Refurbishment of school buildings for village children (Arul Vazhi School)
  • Provision of a water laboratory for environmental monitoring
  • Funding of a water survey for the Auroville region
